The Hioki 3153 Automatic Insulation/Withstanding HiTester is an electrical safety testing instrument used to perform insulation resistance and AC/DC voltage withstand (hipot) tests. It is designed for automated testing of electrical devices and components in compliance with various safety standards.

  • Insulation testing: Provides programmable DC voltages from 50 V to 1,200 V in 1 V steps for insulation resistance measurements up to 9999 MΩ.
  • Voltage withstand (hipot) testing: Performs programmable AC and DC voltage withstand tests from 0.2 kV to 5.00 kV.
  • Programmable testing: Can store up to 32 test files, each with up to 50 steps for test types, points, and settings. This allows for fully automated, sequential testing.
  • PWM method: Generates a stable and accurate test voltage that is not dependent on the input power supply voltage.
  • Ramp timer: Features a ramp timer to increase or decrease the applied test voltage over a specified time during a dielectric strength test.
  • Zero-V Switching: For AC withstand testing, the voltage is switched on and off at the sine wave's zero-crossing point to reduce stress on the device under test.
  • Electrical discharge function: Automatically discharges any residual voltage from the device after a DC withstand or insulation test.
  • Advanced interfaces: Includes EXT I/O, RS-232C, and GP-IB for automated control and data transfer to a PC.
  • Optional scanner support: Can be paired with an optional High Voltage Scanner 3930 to perform multipoint testing on up to 32 channels.
  • Safety features: Includes an interlock function to enhance safety during automated testing.
